What is HEART of West Texas?
~ To provide leadership support for groups located in West Texas. Support will include
    encouragement, sharing and training.
~ To be the central reference for those groups by posting group descriptions and contact
information via our website, maintaining a calendar of upcoming and ongoing homeschool
activities and opportunities, and by keeping a current listing of outside enrichment providers.
~ To provide regional organization of large scale venues that are non-biased and with an open
atmosphere powered by volunteers from groups affiliated with HEART.
H.E.A.R.T. stands for
Home Education And Resource Team
~ HEART of West Texas is a centralized network of homeschool resources for West Texas. Whether you are searching for a home school support group, a home school friendly business or a tutor/teacher for a certain subject, HEART is here to help!

~ HEART of West Texas is considered to be a Christian organization.  However, that is not a
requirement for membership. Any entity offering support or services to homeschoolers in our area is welcome.  There is not a statement of faith to sign but rather a statement of cooperation.     It is the desire of HEART to engender cooperation in the homeschool community.

~ HEART of West Texas desires that all members retain autonomy.  It is our desire that all control and governing bodies remain strictly within the group/business itself.  Our desire is to facilitate cooperation, providing a neutral place for leadership communication.  Rather than pursuing contact with individual families, HEART communicates with the leaders of participating groups, who are welcome to share information that is pertinent to their own membership.

~ HEART of West Texas wishes to remain unbiased.  Our vision is for HEART to be associated with the homeschooling community as a whole.  It is our desire to be a functioning, effective advocate for communication between homeschool and homeschool-friendly entities.
The stated purpose of HEART of West Texas is:
TIER 1 consists of support groups or schools located in West Texas. Support groups are defined
as groups with leaders and members associated with the support of homeschooling.
TIER 2 consists of individuals or businesses providing outside enrichment opportunities for the
homeschool community, or businesses providing services to HEART members at a
discounted/special rate, or businesses owned/operated by homeschooling families.
TIER 3 consists of parents who, having graduated their children through homeschooling, still
desire to participate and contribute to the homeschooling community.
Membership will consist of three levels or tiers.
